We love Seattle with its great diversity of neighborhood's, available careers, recreation and cultural events.

Each neighborhood has its character defined by the style of architecture, lot sizes and available views. You can live in a Seattle bungalow in a nifty walkabout neighborhood, a downtown high rise, or enjoy a waterfront home on the shores of Lake Washington. And if it's a view you want, the choices are limitless: Sunrises over the Cascades, sweeping Lake Washington views, looking west to the Olympics and Puget Sound, even majestic Mt. Rainier. NO flatscapes for us!

Seattle is home to a wide variety of great companies: Microsoft, Boeing, Starbuck's, Amazon, Immunex and a host of smaller support companies. There are great research and teaching opportunities at the University of Washington, Fred Hutchinson Research Center, Seattle University and more. Seattle offers great career opportunities, whether you're just starting out or at the top of your field.

And in Seattle we are never at a loss for entertainment. Cultural activities include great theatre (Intiman, The Rep, Paramount and the Fifth Avenue and many smaller, very exciting and innovative theatre casts) and world-class museums (Seattle Art Museum, The Burke, EMP and more). Don't forget the famed Seattle Film Festival. Our city prides itself on having found many of the independent gems that have been highlighted here.

Best of all Seattle is a great place to live in if you love the outdoors. We can't think of an area that offers such diversity of recreational activities. Great skiing, rock and mountain climbing, day hikes or month long treks are all nearby.

There's unbelievable sailing and boating on Lake Washington or you can take your boat all the way up to the Canadian San Juans. Kayaking from beginning level to class 5 is nearby and we are close to delightful fly-fishing too. Seattle is also home to the Windermere Cup, on of the prettiest venues in the sport of rowing.

The city is a runner's and roller blader's paradise. You can join runner's at dawn down at Greenlake, lunch hours along the downtown waterfront, even go for an in-city cross country run at Discovery Park. Myrtle Edwards Park and the Burke-Gilman trail run from the heart of the city out to Redmond. You'll see runners, walkers, bladers and bikers at all hours of the day. And speaking of bikes — many people ride their bikes to work, especially professors biking in to the UW on the Burke-Gilman trail. Seattle is the start of the STP (Seattle to Portland Bike race) for the die-hard biker.

Only Seattle offers this much variety. Whether your passion be the theatre or an outdoor activity, a latte lover or a high tech guru, you will find a welcome home here. Click on the links below to check out the weather, plan an evening out or see what's playing where.

Have fun.
